The recent consultation reviews about this place were not very good, so I went in unsure.. The consultation fee was absolutely not worth 20,000 won (even 10,000 won would have been questionable to me). First of all, he just rattled off things he says on his own YouTube and blog (well.. fine.. I guess I have to understand that), but what I wanted to know was how much surgical effect I could expect after looking at my condition in detail. Whether because it was inconvenient for him or because he wasn’t confident, whenever he thought something was uncertain, he just brushed it off with, "There are individual differences~ You have to try it to know~ Don’t expect too much~" And I’m not really sure he was being professional either. One of the things I was curious about was how much of a difference there is in effect between grape-bunch liposuction and regular liposuction (this place does regular liposuction). If he had logically explained, "We perform regular liposuction for these and those reasons instead of grape-bunch liposuction," then I would have been willing to get it done here. From the doctor’s perspective, I tried to ask carefully, "This may be rude, but at other places they say they remove the fat attached to the platysma muscle one grain at a time... would there be a big difference in effect between that method and this one?" and he said, "Whether you remove fat grain by grain or in a slurping motion, it’s just a difference in how you phrase it." (Did he not understand my point.. or did he understand it and answer something else because it would be disadvantageous to him..?) So I was like, huh, that made me question this clinic’s expertise. He didn’t seem to know things in depth, acted like what he thought was all there was, and even though I used very polite cushioning language, I could feel that he was annoyed by my questions. Of course, doctors can get tired of doing the same consultation over and over, but that’s only something you can say when the consultation is free. Taking 20,000 won and still being unprofessional. Honestly, I spent over a week reading YouTube and blogs carefully and narrowed it down to two places that seemed safe and still effective, so the consultation fee felt wasted. On the other hand, the manager was really kind. She said she herself had experience with double-chin liposuction, and spoke calmly from the perspective of a fellow patient without making it seem annoying that I kept asking questions. She defended the doctor by saying he was speaking conservatively about the results, but in my opinion it seemed less like conservatism and more like he wanted to prevent complaints and wasn’t confident about patient satisfaction after surgery. Honestly, if the doctor had thought I didn’t need surgery and said, "Maybe you should reconsider double-chin surgery. If I were the patient, I’d think it over," then I would have understood completely and not felt bad. But it looked like because the patient’s double chin wasn’t thick enough, he wasn’t confident about dramatic results, and at the same time, since he was the one doing the surgery, he still had to make money. So the attitude was basically: "I’ll do it the way you want~ but I take zero responsibility for the results. And what I say about double chins is right, everything other clinics do is just marketing. You, the patient, don’t know as much as I do anyway, so why do you keep talking so much..? (Clearly showing he didn’t want to listen.. didn’t even try to listen properly..) If you want the surgery, just get it or don’t." I only barely got any info about the surgical effect because I kept asking. What he said on his own, without me prodding, was: "It’ll come out to about 12.5cc." (showing me the syringe) "About this much. From the side, it’ll just tidy up the line." (=> Really, that’s all I get for a 20,000-won consultation..? I could do that too.) So I got so frustrated that I pressed my double chin myself and asked, "Doctor, of course I won’t know until I try, but if I press it with my finger like this, can I expect that level of surgical effect?" and only then did he say, "Just about the amount of force from a lightly bent finger." Hah..... Shouldn’t he have said that first? Then why charge 20,000 won for a consultation? He just gladly took the money... so irritating. If it had been free, I would have thought, oh, I see. If it had been 10,000 won, I still would have been like, okay. But 20,000 won is really not it. If I had to find one good point here, it would be that they are completely. safety. oriented...? lol But with this money, why would I specifically choose. safety. oriented...? It would be much better to go to another clinic and ask them to do it safety-first.
