About 7 years ago, I had surgery at a university hospital for only a hump nose osteotomy and deviated septum correction, with no silicone or autologous tissue inserted at all. Now I went for a consultation because I wanted to slightly raise only the tip and correct a bulbous nose. My nose is a little taller than average to begin with, but the skin on the tip is a bit thick and it feels bulbous, so I wanted a surgery that would not make the nose higher overall, but would make the tip slimmer and more refined. The consultation completely overturned my expectations. On top of my already high nasal bridge, they wanted to use autologous dermis and insert it, and for the tip they wanted to use costal cartilage to raise it a lot, saying that would pull the skin up and make the width look slimmer. When I said I didn’t have any desire to make it super high, since it’s already high enough and only the tip looks a little lower relative to the bridge, they talked to me in a sneering way like, “What do you know?”... From what I saw, they advertise themselves as if they design and plan according to the patient’s nose, but in reality it felt like they only had a fixed set of surgeries they could do. Every time I said something, they kept sighing deeply and seemed to want to end the consultation quickly. I wouldn’t have planned to have surgery there anyway, but if I had, I honestly would have ended up with a witch-like nose. The consultation fee was 30,000 won, and it was the most wasteful 30,000 won I’ve ever spent in my life.
