This was my second revision eye surgery, and I had a consultation because the sausage-like appearance had not gone away. They said another surgery was possible because more than a year had passed since the revision. Since I had already had two eye surgeries, a lot of skin had been removed during the previous surgery, so they did not recommend cutting between the existing lines because it could make it harder to close my eyes. Instead, they explained a method of creating a new line by making two small incisions and releasing the existing adhesions. At first, I was worried because there was a lot of talk about the two-incision method and I feared being left with two scars. But they said my current scar was a false scar caused by adhesions, so once the adhesions were released, the chance of two scars remaining was low. That reassured me somewhat. I only now realized that sausage eyes are not just about appearance; the functional aspects also need to be considered because of the thickened tissue. I am still deliberating because this would be another revision, but the consultation seems to have changed my mind a lot. The surgeon talks quite a lot, so I recommend going last or leaving some time between appointments.
