During the consultation, I did not particularly feel they were kind, but they accurately told me that some freckles/melasma could become darker and asked whether I could accept that risk. They said it could get worse, so I deliberated over whether to do it, then just decided to proceed. Fortunately, the effect was good. There are a few parts that did not disappear completely, but they have not become darker. I recommend it if you want to remove freckles across your whole face in one go. Because there is a chance they will recur and I still have shallow freckles, I will probably go once more later. It has been about 10 months now; there are no freckles bothersome enough to notice, and it is convenient not having to cover them with concealer anymore. The procedure was not that painful because they applied anesthetic cream.
