The darkness under my eyes would not be covered no matter how much concealer I used, which was frustrating. I had several pigment laser treatments at a dermatology clinic, but they were not very effective. Whenever I took photos, people kept saying I looked tired. After deliberating, I went for a consultation, where they said we first needed to distinguish whether the darkness was a pigment issue or a shadow issue. In my case, fat was protruding forward and creating a shadow underneath it.
