I had surgery about 10 years ago when I was in my early 20s. I did not shop around at multiple places; I just did it through a friend, and personally I regret it. It may be a preference for some people, but the reason I regret it is that the doctor had very strong personal opinions. My eyes tend to look somewhat close-set and the back part felt very tight, so I really wanted a back-and-bottom canthoplasty, but they absolutely said no, so I could not get it. They took a very conservative approach.
