It was already several years ago, but I still remember it. I had failed a canthoplasty before, which had been my biggest complex, so after a huge amount of searching I visited for a consultation because I didn’t want to fail again. The review photos made it look very good, so I went for a consultation, but the consultation wasn’t very systematic. Still, I don’t know what got into me back then, but I was so taken by the review photos that I booked and even had surgery. When I was less than a week before stitch removal, my eye corner looked really good. It had lowered to exactly the degree I wanted and there were no problems, so I even took photos and left a glowing review on the clinic’s website. Then a few days later, when I came back to have the stitches removed, one side had lifted again and become a bit uneven, and I tried to ask why while they were removing the stitches, but I was ignored and they looked at another patient who had arrived later than me first, which left me with a bad feeling. After waiting a long time, they came to me, looked at my eye for stitch removal, and started cutting, and when I asked about the lifting, they avoided answering with the nuance that maybe I had done something irritating to it, as if blaming me. I was someone who never wanted revision surgery again, and I had been so careful, so hearing that upset me. In the middle of that, after they finished removing the stitches, the back mucosa on one eye had lifted, leaving it a little raised and dangling, so when I asked why that was happening, they told me to wait. I was scared and terrified that it might have failed again, and after talking it over, we decided to bring it down again a few days later. I lay back on the operating table for another surgery, and normally local anesthesia hurts so they briefly use sleep anesthesia first, but they didn’t even do that, so the anesthesia itself hurt a lot, and above all the surgeon’s attitude during surgery was really bad. Because of the revision surgery, the recovery period was extended by two weeks more than planned, and even though it had been revised, one eye corner lifted upward again. And the well-known D-shaped complication also appeared.... On the day I went for follow-up, I witnessed another shocking scene. It seemed there were already quite a few patients with problems after the same surgery as mine, because a woman got into an argument with the doctor during a consultation and it turned into a mess. In a situation like that, the doctor should explain things in a way the patient can understand, but instead they avoided it and their voices got louder, so the patient seemed furious too. I thought nothing I said there would make any difference and I’d just end up more stressed, so I left. Even now I’m just living with my eyes being uneven. I’m annoyed that I still haven’t been able to delete the review I wrote positively back then.
