I had been 고민ing about double eyelid surgery for years, and after deciding, I went ahead with it. Despite the many opinions around me saying I should never get double eyelid surgery and that my monolid eyes were attractive, I had been ignoring my appearance. But after starting computer-related work, the downside of monolids was that the flesh folding over my eyes made me feel stuffy, so I developed the habit of raising my forehead muscles to keep my eyes open. As time went on, the stress built up, and when I thought about it again back then, I felt so jealous of people with double eyelids because they seemed able to move their eyes more comfortably and probably had a wider field of vision. My eyes were narrow in length, had no inner double fold, and the upper lids bulged out like a frog, so I had almost the typical East Asian monolid look. I had never had any cosmetic surgery before, so this was a big decision for me. ㅎㅎ Of course I consulted several plastic surgery clinics (about seven?), and the reason I chose The Swan among them was that the consultations felt more professional. They looked closely at my eyes, measured with tools, and observed various possible designs. At first I wanted to know whether I could keep my monolids without creating a visible eyeliner line, and whether eye correction or widening could be done. But, including all the other clinics, I was told that creating it without an eyeliner line was impossible, and that the shape and length of the eyes are part of the external design, so I understood. Of course they showed me many before-and-after surgery photos, and 8 out of 10 of them had amazing changes in the direction I wanted, so I was strongly drawn in. If I had to point out a downside of The Swan, it would be that waiting for the consultation schedule took so long that my patience sometimes reached its limit, and the consultation service itself felt a little lacking. Still, after a long consultation where they really paid attention to my eyes, The Swan suggested the directions of 'buried-method treatment' to relieve the stuffiness of my eyes without using my forehead muscles, 'ponytail lifting' to add to the charm unique to monolids, and 'front angle conversion' to pay more attention to the design. The ponytail lifting design, which adds charm in a way that pulls up the impression of the forehead, was exactly what I wanted. Most plastic surgery clinics only do the typical Korean-style double eyelid surgery with an incision, and if I had undergone that kind of surgery, I would have ended up with sausage eyes. (I actually really like individuality, so I disliked plain, standard eyes.) But of course the part I worried about most was the price..ㅠ For a student like me, it was an enormous amount of money, so I asked for more time to decide on the surgery date. Actually, even about three years before when I consulted at The Swan, I had considered it, but I gave up on the surgery itself because of the cost ㅋ ㅠㅠ But that was in the past, and this time I had saved up money, so I figured, whatever, let's just go for it and scheduled the surgery^^ I chose the buried method and ponytail lifting, excluding the front angle conversion. After the surgery, I managed my recovery very strictly at the beginning. I drank about two pumpkin juices a day, took pills, and applied medicine, and my recovery went quickly. What was surprising was that if you just looked at my eyes, the difference after surgery seemed big, but because people around me looked at my whole face, they said it looked like my original face and was natural. I'm satisfied. I'm really curious what I will look like now and after about six months ㅎㅎ
