Nose Surgery review at Apgujeongaen (압구정앤) · 2021-05-10

I thought about it for a long time and had cosmetic surgery at a relatively late age, so I was even more careful and scared. What if it failed, what if there were side effects, what about medical accidents, and so on? So I searched through posts going back 10 years in multiple communities and visited many places for consultations. If something seemed like decent information, it was usually an ad or a fake patient, so it was really hard to get reliable information about hospitals and surgery. Still, I wanted to become prettier, so I decided to have the surgery, and by my own judgment I chose Apgujeong N. Other than the minor details I regret and having to be careful with my nose for the rest of my life, I think I made the right decision to have it done. If you think of cosmetic surgery as an investment in appearance, then all responsibility for that investment is yours, so I do not recommend the surgery or the hospital. I wrote this review in the hope that my experience might help a little when considering this hospital. (Especially for newcomers who know little about cosmetic surgery, members of this community T_T I really understand how you feel!!) It's been about 2 years since the surgery, and I had eye surgery (incision double eyelid + eye correction + epicanthoplasty) and nose surgery (bridge + septum + ear cartilage). Basically, I wanted surgery in Gwangju, at a hospital that had been operating for a long time if possible, and from a board-certified plastic surgeon. I chose with those points in mind, and overall I am about 90% satisfied with the result. This is purely my personal satisfaction with the surgical and cosmetic results, and it does not include anything else about the hospital. And since it is my personal opinion, it may differ from what others think, so please keep that in mind~ Eyes. I did not really emphasize the line or height I wanted, and they did not ask me either lol In the end, my eyes got bigger (this is what I am most satisfied with~), and the in-out line and height came out natural and just right. But once the major swelling went down, the line and height gradually became uneven. It might still have been swelling, and the decision about revision could only be made after 2 to 3 months, so I went back then. I went in worried, What if they refuse to do a revision?, but fortunately they immediately said it was asymmetry and decided on revision. However, it could not be done right away and had to wait about 6 months, so I had the revision about 7 months after the surgery. I asked whether I could do only one side because one side was perfectly to my liking, but they said the balance had to match, so both sides were done. The revision went well too, but the line on one eye was slightly compressed and became a little distorted, and neither eye ended up with an in-out line. That is where my satisfaction dropped by 10% T_T Other people may not notice it, but I found it very disappointing. Especially the line! And although the eye correction did not have a huge effect because I practiced opening my eyes incorrectly, at the beginning it definitely made opening my eyes better. Nose. I really worried a lot about my nose, but it turned out naturally and so well that it is hard to tell I had anything done~ That is partly because my nose was very low to begin with, but the surgery itself was also really well done. I just hoped there would be no side effects, but after the surgery I also started wishing it had been a little higher. Still, both when explaining it to me during consultation and when I heard the director speak to the staff later in surgery, I understood the reason. Even if I wanted it higher, my skin was thin, so this was the limit^-^ Also, my nose was slightly upturned and the nostrils were a bit wide, but the tip surgery seems to have refined that. Visually I could not tell much, but in photos it was clearly different. I do not mean it was obvious, just different compared with before! The disappointing part is that the nostrils and the inner wall of the nose are slightly asymmetrical, but since only I know that, it is just a small disappointment. Other. For people who only care that the surgery turns out well, unlike me, the biggest issue with this hospital seems to be 'how kind they are':-) As for the director, like I wrote in the consultation review, I was quite satisfied with the consultation time and the explanations. I discussed the basic explanation of the surgical area, the method suited to my case, and additional questions I had. The fact that they did not avoid revision surgery and were willing to take responsibility, and that they explained what to consider for revision, also left a good impression. The overall staff inside the hospital do not feel especially kind, and the front desk feels quite bureaucratic, especially the manager^-^? There may be many sensitive issues because of the nature of the work, but I wish staff would quietly keep their private opinions about patients or customers to themselves. Even if a customer is not actually a difficult one, talking negatively about customers in front of other customers does not leave a good impression of the hospital. I saw this several times from the staff overall, so apart from the surgery itself, that was the most disappointing part for me. Nothing else comes to mind, so I will end the review here.
