11 years ago, I had nose surgery with the head doctor through a friend's recommendation. I had a hump and a low nose, so they shaved down the hump and said the nasal bone was bent, so I also had osteotomy, but that seemed a bit more than necessary. Within a year, the columella (the pillar between the nostrils) became crooked, and the bridge they had aligned with the osteotomy also became a bit crooked. Looking back, nothing really changed, so I wonder if it was really necessary. Still, it wasn't severe, there were no major side effects, it settled in fine, and I don't want to touch my nose again, so I'm living with it... If I could go back, I think I'd shop around more. Oh, and near the end, the anesthesia wore off and I remember being shocked because someone else was suturing, but from the posts below it seems suturing is normally done by someone else;;
