I got consultations for my eyes and nose. The doctor explains very calmly and quietly in a soft tone. CT scan is available. (CT scan fee: 10,000 won) I got a CT scan, then they explained it while looking at the photos. There was a slight deviated septum, and also rhinitis. For the bridge, there was a slight hump, so they said to shave it down a little and add an implant (silicone or mesh). (No need for osteotomy) My nose is overall small and short, so they said to raise the bridge and also raise the tip to match the bridge + lengthen it. Personally, I really dislike silicone, so I asked whether the bridge could be done with my own tissue. The bridge can be done with autologous dermis or costal cartilage, and they said autologous dermis is harvested from the buttock. It looks natural, but more than 50% gets absorbed, and a sharp-looking nose is difficult to achieve. If using costal cartilage, of course there will be a chest scar, and for the bridge they carve the costal cartilage into an implant shape like silicone (there is also a method of mincing it finely, but they didn’t seem to recommend that much). They also said that if costal cartilage is used, no other materials such as septal cartilage or ear cartilage are needed. When I said I wanted both double eyelids and canthoplasty, they only recommended burying. They said rear canthoplasty is possible, but it wouldn’t make a huge change, only about 1 mm of a more “natural” look, so they didn’t recommend it. They also said front canthoplasty isn’t necessary if the bridge is raised. The aftercare period is 2 years, and the costs were: Nose basic 300, actual bill 400 (250 reimbursed) Costal cartilage basic 700, actual bill 800 (250 reimbursed) Eyes 100 It was definitely attractive that, since the doctor is an ENT specialist, actual bill processing is possible, but for a first surgery they kept saying not to use costal cartilage in most cases, yet the atmosphere was still to recommend it, so I felt a little uneasy. Oh, and the consultation manager spoke informally to me the first time we met, which I didn’t like.
