First of all, apart from the consultation director, the other staff are a bit businesslike, but not to the point of being unpleasant. And the doctor's consultation is unlike other hospitals, where they inspect the eyes first and go through that process; from the start he only asked which direction I wanted, and confidently said everything could be done, so it left me a little puzzled. In surgery, no matter how skilled a doctor is, there should still be guidance about variables, side effects, and prognosis that can be expected. I don't know whether he can handle all of that too, but he is very brisk and confident. Then when I heard the price from the consultation director, it was so much more expensive than I expected that I was taken aback. Still, the surgery reviews and the way he seems more confident than other hospitals, plus the fact that he did not see my eyes as a common case or treat them as difficult, do make me hopeful, but the cost alone is making me hesitate.
