Eye Surgery review at Aioyu (아이오유) · 2021-09-24

I had incision eyelid correction + epicanthoplasty surgery 5 years ago. I chose this place because I heard they were good at difficult revision cases, so I figured first-time surgery would obviously be fine, and the result was... lol. If you say the surgery was successful because there are no functional problems with my eyes, I'd have to agree, but aesthetically all I got was scars and something that felt pointless. It was so natural that one side even loosened up, and the eye on the other side with the worse scar still has a visible scar to this day, even after revision surgery. Right before the operation, while designing, they said one eye had weaker opening strength so they'd make the line a little higher, and I said okay. The result was asymmetrical eyes, but I'm the type who doesn't really care about a little asymmetry, so that wasn't a big deal. But shouldn't they have warned me that because they were going to fix it deeply, the scar could become extremely dark? I still don't know why they didn't tell me, and during the surgery it felt like the anesthesia wore off, and in the final stretch it hurt insanely bad, so I said it "3" times, but they didn't give me more anesthesia because they said it was almost over, which was infuriating lol. Waiting for the surgery to end while feeling like there was a fishing hook stuck in my eye was absolutely miserable lolol. The only good thing is that, thanks to this, whenever I have procedures people say are painful, I think back to that and can endure them better, telling myself that at least it's less painful than when the anesthesia wore off during surgery~~ Also, the bruising is really terrible. I lived like a raccoon for a month. I learned very clearly from this experience that expensive does not mean good. The staff were also extremely kind, but when I went back later they were very cold. I expected it, but I couldn't help feeling annoyed lol. I eventually had revision surgery, and after that I could compare it exactly and see how badly they had done the original surgery, which made me furious + all that was left was a scar I'll have to carry forever. Anyway, the conclusion is: don't go here.
