Eye Surgery review at Aioyu (아이오유) · 2022-01-29

I had surgery here 8 years ago. It was my first surgery. Even at a young age my eye shape was stressful, so I really wanted surgery. I didn’t have a double eyelid, but there were layers upon layers, so my eyelids looked very wrinkled. I’m male, and back then I thought an inner double eyelid would obviously show like women’s, so I searched online for monolid double eyelid surgery and this place was the first result. Other places came up too, but they said they would make the inner double eyelid as thin as possible, so I skipped them. I went in for a consultation, and since it was my first ever consultation I was confused, but I still remember it clearly. Ms. Yuri, the consultation manager lol She was really kind, carefully set the line without adding anything extra, and even noticed my asymmetry. She had a soft, somewhat languid way of speaking that really stuck with me. And the doctor’s consultation was so cool... that I remember being surprised. He basically said it was obviously a surgery that would turn out well and that he wanted a case like mine. To exaggerate a bit, it felt like he was welcoming me with both arms open. I quickly paid the deposit and had the surgery, and at the time Ms. Yuri seemed to feel sorry for me, a young kid who knew nothing and was traveling back and forth from the provinces, or maybe she felt bad that she had quoted a high price and I hadn’t asked for any discount at all, so she took 150,000 won off my transportation costs. I was so grateful then... And after surgery, one eye turned out so perfectly that it looked drawn on, but the other side was asymmetric I wasn’t completely happy with it, but back then I thought one surgery was the end of it, so I left it alone. Then when I went back for follow-up, Ms. Yuri pointed out the asymmetry again, and the doctor said let’s do revision surgery! so I had a second surgery after 6 months, only on one eye! (for free) A week after the revision, I went back for follow-up, and from the doctor’s point of view the symmetry still seemed a bit lacking, so he asked if I had time and operated again lol. But thanks to that attention and the revision, I now have beautiful eyes that look completely natural and that I’m very satisfied with Even now, 8 years later, the surgery still turned out so well that both the doctor and I were 100% satisfied, so even though I used to spend 7 hours round-trip going from the provinces to Seoul for follow-ups, it’s always been a good memory. And whenever I came out of there, I’d go get Subway, anyway It still hasn’t loosened and my eyes are firm and nice... Besides my eyes, I also had facial contouring and nose surgery at another hospital, and I think I may just be unusually well-suited to plastic surgery... It’s a story from 8 or 9 years ago, so I don’t know what the situation is like now I still vividly remember being so young, going into that busy Gangnam street, being scared, lol. Even on the day of surgery I got lost because I couldn’t transfer on the subway and ended up starting 1 hour and 30 minutes late... But they still somehow accepted me, and since it was a Saturday, when I came out everyone at the front desk had already gone home and Ms. Yuri waited for me. It was such a kind hospital.
