Patient review of Cheonnun (첫눈) · 2021-02-10

I have monolids, and it wasn't so much that I had major dissatisfaction with my eyes as that I wanted to diagnose my current eye condition, and more than anything, I wanted my eyes to open more comfortably for functional reasons, so I went in for a related consultation. First of all, the hospital facilities and the atmosphere from the coordinator were not burdensome, but also not unconvincing, so for me it was just the right amount of comfortable, which I liked. As soon as I went in, I filled out my chart and paid the consultation fee, and because I had made an appointment and there weren't many people waiting, I was able to see the doctor relatively early. The doctor was, how should I put it, not the type to be especially warm or easygoing, and had a very clear personal standard. It was good that they explained the medical background in detail, but honestly I did not feel that they were really listening to my worries. They asked me to look straight ahead, then to close and open my eyes, and said I had severe ptosis and would need double-eyelid surgery by incision together with ptosis correction, but at the hospitals I had visited before and after this one, they said I did not have ptosis, so that part felt a bit suspicious. However, looking at other reviews, it seems they treat patients honestly, so maybe the standards for ptosis are just different. They had me define the crease on one eye and look at it in the mirror, but I did not like it. Since I did not want a major change in my appearance in the first place, they ended the consultation by saying they hoped the advice to think carefully about whether I truly wanted surgery would help me, and in fact it did make me think again about eyebrow lift surgery, which would not change my appearance, so I guess that advice was helpful. Still, as I said, because the doctor was a bit stern, I felt flustered and could not ask everything I wanted, so the consultation fee felt a little wasted. They said aftercare was free for one year, and that about three scar-injection treatments would be done starting one month later. After seeing the doctor, the coordinator explained the surgery price and the expected situation after surgery. As for surgical skill, I assume it is excellent, of course, but I could not convey everything on my mind, and even though I am not sure whether I have ptosis, it did not seem like the most severe case, so my expectations for surgery have been lowered a bit.
