I think being honest and being rude are different things. I was very grateful that the director spoke honestly, but the direct comments about my appearance like, “There’s nothing more to improve,” and “Give up on becoming prettier,” hurt a bit during the consultation. Before the consultation with the director, the consultation manager warned me that I might get hurt a little, but the consultation wasn’t free... I was paying for it, so I didn’t understand why they had to speak like that. It felt like they were making the patient read the room, so I decided not to have the surgery. I felt like if side effects happened later, I’d end up having to read the room again.
