I was diagnosed as needing epicanthoplasty and buried suture. Of course, it is true that I have an epicanthic fold, but when I showed reluctance about epicanthoplasty, they recommended doing less than 2 mm total on both sides, saying it would be hard to get either in-out or semi-out without it. When I hesitated about canthoplasty and said, 'My interpupillary distance is already average, and wouldn't I end up looking harsh?', they ended the consultation with 'I don't think so?' in a way that made me feel like they didn't want to keep talking. I was embarrassed, so I just stood up and left. It felt like we spoke less than 10 lines in total. The consultation manager, though, was very kind.
