I went in for a consultation first, and what was strange was that they didn't take a CT scan. They just proceeded with the consultation based on what was visible to the naked eye, and rather than feeling like they were counseling me, I felt like I had to lay everything out first. In the end, they didn't recommend surgery. The good point was that they did clearly tell me what was right and what was not, but the consultation itself felt like it had just awkwardly drifted away, so I felt a lack of professionalism.
