Summary: Don't get square-jaw Botox casually... Early this year, I got square-jaw Botox at a factory-style clinic with no real thought, at a high unit count, and ended up looking like a peanut person. The masseter area and temporal area had very pronounced muscle bulges, and when I clenched my teeth I could feel that area swelling up. This year I also had a bit of an eating disorder and vomited a lot, so my parotid glands became enlarged too, and I had become a super peanut person... I visited after making an appointment and waited about 15 minutes. The coordinator was quietly kind, so I figured maybe that was just the usual atmosphere. A little later I had a consultation with the director. It was brief, but he had me look in the mirror and checked the muscle-developed areas carefully. He recommended the temporal area, cheekbones, and parotid glands. I had an additional consultation with the manager, was told about the side effect that facial expressions can get a bit messed up, and said okay. They applied numbing cream and also used ice anesthesia, but it hurt so much... Of course, I knew they were injecting tiny amounts along the muscle fibers... and that made me trust the multiple needle pricks more.. but it still hurts... I am also a big crybaby and scaredy-cat, but among facial injections, Botox seems to hurt the most... A month later, they did a touch-up on the temporalis muscle, and the muscles on the sides of my head seem to have gone down a lot... Personally I am satisfied, but if you told me to do it twice, I could not. It hurts too much. No, leaving the pain aside, the feeling of the needle piercing through the scalp is so creepy...
