About 6 months ago, I went to shop around for lowering the line of my double eyelid surgery. During the consultation, the doctor said my eyes were not extremely difficult and that even people with worse cases came in often, so incision-only correction would be enough and I should absolutely not do a double-line method. They said they mostly do incision-only procedures and have a long career, so I did feel somewhat reassured. I plan to go back for another consultation and ask about side effects such as not being able to fully close the eyes after incision because my eyes are protruding, the unnatural feeling from fat grafting, and overcorrection from ptosis correction. They said ptosis correction is essential, but since that does not cost extra, I understand that as the doctor’s judgment. At another clinic, they said ptosis correction would make the pupils look smaller or cause no sausage-like appearance because of it, and here they said fat grafting is absolutely necessary, but at another place I was not recommended it. When I expressed an opinion that went against the doctor’s view, such as on ptosis correction or fat grafting, the doctor got grumpy, said the eye structure is more complicated than I know, and spoke as if it was bothersome to explain more. They were confident that recovery would be short, and rather than adjusting the plan with the patient, it felt like I was just being told unilaterally that this would definitely lower the line here. But maybe that is because revision surgery has its limits? I do think that too. They seemed very confident, but since this is a revision surgery, I plan to get more consultations carefully. The same-day booking deposit is 50,000 won, which is not a small amount compared with other clinics charging 10%, and there is some pressure to book, like scaring you with the idea that benefits disappear if you do not book that day. It is not refundable in cash, but can be used like cash for treatments and procedures.
