At other places, the consultation with the manager would first check what parts I was worried about and what I wanted, then pass that on to the director before the consultation. Here, even during the manager consultation, the manager brought it up first and said, "Bring this up with the director during the consultation about this surgery." If that helps, fine, but in my opinion that kind of thing should be brought up directly by the director, so before the consultation I was a bit like, huh? The director consulted based on what the manager wrote down. The director had a very cool, easygoing vibe, and the consultation was good. They explained in detail what each surgery was and how it would be done, drawing things out as they went. They answered everything I was curious about.
