바노바기 — Review

I had my first nose surgery 15 years ago with Gore-Tex and ear cartilage. About 10 years later, the skin on my nose started to thin, and the tip began to look round and protruded. A friend recommended this clinic, so I came here and had a revision surgery. I thought it was a full surgery, but later I found out it had only been the nasal tip. They shaved down the ear cartilage that looked like it was about to protrude, placed thin dermis over it, and that was the end of the surgery. The doctor told me I would never need nose surgery again for the rest of my life, but in the end I developed the same side effect again in just 3 years. So I went to a specialized clinic in Suwon for autologous dermis, had all the implants removed, had another revision with autologous dermis, and I’m now living well without any side effects. The worst thing about this clinic was that they used some material called Medpor on the tip of my nose without the patient’s permission. Later, when they opened it up for another revision, that Medpor-like material was broken, and it was causing inflammation in my nose. I was never told during the consultation or the post-op explanation that they had used something like that, and I was shocked when I found out later. My nasal skin was thin, so even if they redid the tip surgery and covered it with a thin dermal layer, it was still a nose that could never last for life. The doctor who did that surgery, just to make it hold for a few years, was really terrible too. When I later went back because I had side effects, the doctor who had done my surgery had quit, and another female doctor said the nose didn’t look that bad and prescribed only expensive antibiotics for 30 days. The medicine alone cost over 100,000 won. But this was a situation where medicine wouldn’t fix it at all; it needed to be removed completely. I felt this was not a clinic that truly cared about the patient.
