I'm here now to write the consultation review I had at the end of June. (In conclusion, I'm a patient waiting for surgery in August here.) For a nose re-revision, meaning my fourth surgery, I'm someone who has been touring 11 hospitals. A year ago, during my third surgery, I had a major operation that even removed autologous costal cartilage, but it became crooked, and one side of my nose couldn't even breathe. I had already spent 10 million won just on nose surgery, and it ended up ruined anyway, and now they were saying I had to open my nose again and wear a splint for another week... The more times you open it, the greater the risk of contracture, they say, and ugh.. Does anyone know this feeling? With tears in my eyes, I spent the whole night searching every bit of information here, from the doctor's educational background, whether they are an ENT specialist, reputation, whether they have 10+ years of experience, which hospitals they trained at, whether it's a private clinic, and even made a portfolio with my past photos and why I was going through a fourth surgery, and what I wanted from this surgery, and took that pile of papers to the consultation room like a villain. Honestly, since this was my fourth surgery and I had already gone to 11 places just this time, I think I went to pretty much every famous nose clinic mentioned here. I met the well-known directors, even the ones who do YouTube. There were doctors who dismissed things like that as unnecessary, and doctors who calmly took a look. The current doctor was the latter. Everyone here, and everyone working in plastic surgery clinics, probably knows this. Patients who go to plastic surgery clinics are not only people whose faces hurt lol they are first and foremost people whose hearts hurt. Even if the former kind of doctor is extremely skilled and all-powerful, if they don't understand the patient's needs? That's a mismatch for me. The more I dug, the more information kept coming out, and that's just how this field is, but honestly, it's annoying too. There are seriously way too many plastic surgery clinics. It's just such a sea of information that I can't choose. I went in already knowing the current director's expertise, and I think this is one of those pearl-like cases that hasn't gotten as much word-of-mouth attention as their career deserves. They don't do viral marketing or aggressive promotion. From what I can see, they seem to get patients through introductions from acquaintances or through people like me who obsessively search and stumble upon them. Director's characteristics) They recommend things to match facial harmony. And they know exactly what parts the patient wants, and what their complexes are. After seeing eleven directors, that difference really stood out. They are as conservative as possible. They caution against implants, caution against keeping silicone in if possible, caution toward going natural, caution toward preserving existing costal cartilage if it can be used, so when I saw them set both Plan A and Plan B, I thought, yes, this is the one, put down the deposit, and in the end I booked surgery for August. I know very well that I am a difficult case myself. At another famous clinic, they said let's expect 50% improvement and operate. There they even quoted 15 million won for surgery. lol The director was confident and professional, and when I asked, so how do you think it will change? the changes they drew on the iPad were honestly to my liking. Even if it doesn't turn out exactly like that, if the director looks at my nose and plans it that way, it gave me a sense of anticipation. I liked the conservative surgical plan that considered the patient step by step, and the manager was kind, didn't force unreasonable requests, and stayed calm. I'll come back in August with a surgery review. Also, this time because complications like a deviated septum and rhinitis appeared from the previous surgery(?), and were clearly visible on the CT scan(?), - I don't know if I should be happy about this - it seems it will be covered by insurance, so I may get about 1 million won reimbursed from that amount. A lot of people must find surgery costs burdensome, so if you're in a case like mine, take this as a reference. Also note that to get reimbursed, you need to go to an ENT specialist, not a plastic surgeon.
