During the consultation, the doctor took a phone call and went into the operating room to check on anesthesia, then came back out.. Since it’s a one-doctor clinic, if I were the patient waiting under anesthesia in the operating room right then, I’d hate that so much. (I ended up deciding that if I ever have surgery at this clinic, I’d have to bring a guardian and make them watch the CCTV in real time. Then maybe they wouldn’t leave during my surgery.) The consultation staff mentioned a same-day discount event. They say they don’t force surgery, but the fact that there’s absolutely no discount unless you decide that day is pressure in itself. Overall, both the doctor and the staff presented the consultations as warm on the surface, but the commercial feeling was pretty strong. I went because it’s a one-doctor clinic and the doctor is an ENT specialist, but in the end it felt more like a plastic surgery clinic than a hospital, which was disappointing.
