A few years ago I got alar reduction from a quack, and my alar was overresected, and the alar rim was sutured too narrowly, leaving my nose pinched and lifted. There was nothing I could do about the overresection of the alar, but I thought even just moving the alar rim outward and resuturing it would improve the pinched feeling, yet every hospital refused flatly, saying that surgery doesn't exist. After asking around everywhere, this was the last hospital I went to because they said they were the only place that could solve it. The director looked at my nose and said it could be fixed with "alar rim lifting + moving the alar rim outward and resuturing + lowering the nostrils." It wasn't just empty talk, because they also showed me before-and-after photos of patients like me whose alar was overresected and whose alar rim had been sutured too narrowly. I felt relieved because they completely understood why it was pinched and lifted. I also liked that there was a 3-year aftercare period. Conclusion: I got "alar rim lifting + moving the alar rim outward and suturing + lowering the nostrils," and my weird nose, which had been pinched and lifted so the nostrils looked like the number 11, became a normal nose with round nostrils. Now that the nostrils are wider, it's much easier to breathe too. For reference, one nostril had a hooked shape and didn't lower well with nostril-lowering, so I paid 300,000 won for anesthesia and received aftercare three times. With a hooked nose, lowering the nostrils is difficult, so I recommend a combined ear-skin + ear-cartilage graft rather than just putting in cartilage. They say removing ear cartilage hurts a lot and can deform the ear, but I didn't feel much pain even on the day, and the shape of my ear stayed the same. The area where skin was harvested was inside the ear, and the sutures were neat so it doesn't show. They say skin grafting can leave a raised scar-like bump inside the nostril that looks like boogers, but mine is only slightly raised and not noticeable. They are truly incredibly skilled.
