I had eye correction surgery, but one eye is undercorrected. The director said it's okay to do only one eye, but that a scar excision would be necessary. When I said there wasn't enough extra skin, he said, then would I keep living like that with asymmetry? He said excision was necessary. I liked that the director personally took a few photos during the consultation and then carefully explained things while measuring the eye shape and line symmetry on the monitor with a ruler. Since I was worried about doing surgery on only one side, he said Hering's law doesn't happen to everyone, and even both sides can end up uneven. He also said that to match the eyes, I would have to accept that one eye might not close completely as much. He said I shouldn't do a double fold because the space between my eyes is narrow. Since the undercorrected eye also has some hollowing, I could either extract fat from the navel area and put it into the eye, or if I did under-eye fat grafting at the same time, it could be transplanted using under-eye fat. He said if I don't want fat grafting, I can do it later. He said if I do the eye correction, the line will match as the eye opens upward. He didn't say anything about loosening the line. Since only one side would be done, there is also a possibility I'd need correction again later, and because the mucosa of the eye doesn't show much, the other side doesn't need to be done together, but he said he could do it if I wanted. The consultation was kind and I liked it, but I'm still worried about one-eye surgery and the excision.
