- After buried suture double eyelid surgery, only one side’s line became lower and has recently started to loosen. One side has already had the front line additionally fixed twice more. - I want the eyes to look natural and pure overall, with a refined image. In fact, even now my double eyelid line looks so natural that no one can tell I have one! Maybe the asymmetry makes that even more so. - The reason I want surgery is that one side’s line has dropped again and is loosening, and my eyes feel harder to open, which is uncomfortable + the aesthetic side of it.
I went to consultations at several clinics, but one place gave a different opinion, so I’m torn. Please give me your thoughts!
1. Apgujeong GY, Director Yeom * Incisional surgery on only one side * They pursue ultra-natural aesthetics and said there’s nothing else to do. Since it already looks pretty, they said only the loosened, uncomfortable side needs a canthoplasty, and no further eye correction is needed. Making the line bigger won’t make it prettier; it suits my current image perfectly. * The director was very firm. He has his own standard for natural beauty. But I also think that may be because he wants to minimize risk. They say the surgery here is very good, and I went because I heard strong word of mouth. They create a classically shaped line, and it’s a truly natural-looking line.
2. Apgujeong GRB, Director Park * Incisional surgery + eye correction, no canthoplasty * Since it loosened very simply, do incisional surgery on both sides. We’ll make it pretty! He said that 정도 and told me not to worry because it’s not a difficult case. He recommended doing both sides because if only one side is done, the buried-suture side and the incisional side would feel too different. Despite his experience, he gives a very trendy line. * I just went after visiting GY. The director seemed confident and said that if you bring the eyes you want, he’ll put the photos up and make them the same. But I wasn’t sure whether he’d make it suit my image, so I passed. Just looking at the eyes, I think he’d make very pretty eyes.
3. OOV * Incisional surgery! Eye correction, no canthoplasty * I’m 99% sure this is a clinic that works hard on marketing. However, from the posts written by the director and the before/after photos, he seems to have long experience and real skill, and it just seems like they haven’t promoted themselves well. Also, the price is very reasonable. It’s the only clinic that called to ask whether I was going to have the surgery. If you ask whether marketing is bad, I don’t think that’s the case. I don’t think I can evaluate this clinic.
4. Gangnam Station OOV (English), Director Bae * Buried-suture recommendation (additional back/lower canthoplasty optional, up to the patient; the director is confident about it) * The current vibe is really good! If we do incisional surgery, I don’t think we can preserve the feel of my current eyes. He wants me to do buried-suture surgery to keep the good image I have now. Canthoplasty isn’t necessary, but doing the back/lower canthoplasty might make the eyes feel more open! * I know this is a clinic that does a lot of marketing, but I visited because I know someone who had surgery with a director from here. When everyone else recommended incisional surgery, it was refreshing that he recommended full buried-suture surgery and explained why. He also shaped the line nicely. It reflects the style of younger doctors these days. * The coordinator pushed same-day booking, but their aesthetic sense was quite good. * I know this clinic does aggressive marketing. I didn’t go because of you guys; I went knowing that, so please don’t leave baiting comments lol
5. Gangnam Station OOK, Director Choi * Incisional eye correction, no canthoplasty
* I know someone who had surgery with Director Choi. They had buried-suture surgery and it turned out very well. They shaped both sides and the line they created was pretty. After hearing about Director Bae at OOV (English), I asked about buried-suture surgery, but they said it would just loosen again and didn’t recommend it. They cautiously but firmly recommended incisional surgery. * The coordinator did a really good job organizing everything before and after the consultation.
6. Gangnam Station PRMY, Director Jang * Incisional surgery, eye correction * They said my current image is good, so let’s go for a natural look, but they shaped the eyes more glamorously than I expected, so I passed. I heard the skill is really good, so I had high expectations, but I don’t think it suits me. * The consultation coordinator was gentle and nice.
7. Apgujeong OO1 * Incisional surgery, eye correction. Canthoplasty not recommended (if you want front canthoplasty, you can do it, but only a very slight widening is possible) / If only one side is going to be operated on, proceed with buried-suture surgery * I heard it’s hard to get an appointment because they’re the famous “Apgujeong sewing machine,” but I didn’t know that and just called, yet somehow got a lucky, quick booking. * The director is a listener lol. Basically, if you want to do it, do it; if you don’t, don’t. Since it’s not an extreme case, they have the mindset of doing everything the way I want, and because they’re so famous, even saying that made me trust them somehow.
I’m currently torn between OO1, OOK, and OOV (English), so I wrote because I need your honest opinions!
***I’m curious whether, as OO1 and OOK directors said, the more buried-suture surgery you do, the more it loosens, and whether incisional surgery truly never feels like buried-suture surgery, as OOV (English) said. For reference, OO1 and OOK said they won’t make the line very high, so that’s fine, and the OO1 director showed great confidence in the suturing***
Also, except for GY and OO1, the other clinics have recently been doing a lot of marketing
