After my first surgery went badly, I felt like I was going to get depressed every time I looked in the mirror. This time I had revision surgery at Saegim and finally found some peace, so I am leaving a review... I hope this helps at least a little for people like me who cannot sleep at night and feel stressed because of a crooked nose and an upturned nose At the first surgery, they inserted silicone and shaped the tip, but after about 3 years the nose started to bend to one side. The problem was that the tip gradually became more upturned too, so when I looked from the front, the nostrils were fully visible... Because it was crooked and upturned, my whole impression looked completely off, so I kept lowering my head when meeting people. Getting photographed under bright lights made my self-esteem drop again. I really learned that nose surgery has to be done very carefully. This revision really has to be the last one in my life, so I started looking for a place that would cleanly replace the existing silicone and could definitely lower the upturned tip. At first I read community posts and review lists carefully, and wrote down the clinics that were often mentioned for crooked noses and revision surgery. Then, among the revision nose surgery reviews, I saw someone with a crooked nose and an upturned nose combination like mine who had surgery at Saegim using donor rib cartilage and got a clean line, and I immediately thought this was it, so I booked a consultation right away. I visited about 4 or 5 places that I narrowed down after researching online, but in the end I chose here! At other places, they either tried to make the surgery unnecessarily big by immediately suggesting autologous costal cartilage harvest, or spoke vaguely about ear cartilage as if it might or might not work. But here, the director looked at the CT and pointed out only the facts. They said the tilted silicone should be cleanly replaced with a new one, and that the upturned tip should be supported firmly with donor rib cartilage to reduce the burden of pain from autologous costal cartilage. They explained that, according to my facial proportions, the bridge would be kept straight without overdoing it, and the tip would be brought down into a natural straight-to-slightly-raised line. That confident consultation really won my trust. On the day of surgery, after the anesthesia wore off, it was hard because I could not breathe through my nose and my throat felt dry. Since it was donor rib cartilage, there was no rib pain, but the inside of my nose felt heavy and sore. On days 2 and 3, swelling and bruising came up a bit around my eyes and nose bridge, but it went down quickly when I iced diligently. On the big day, day 7, when the splint was removed, my hands were really shaking. But the moment the splint came off and I looked in the mirror, I was screaming inside... First of all, the line around the tip that had looked crooked was neatly straight, with no bending at all, and I was overwhelmed with emotion. The unpleasant feeling from removing the old silicone was completely gone. The upturned nose feeling I had worried about most was fully improved With the tip firmly supported by donor rib cartilage, the visible area of the nostrils from the front was greatly reduced and the nasolabial angle looked just right. Now it has been about 3 months, and as residual swelling goes down, the line is getting more refined. Anyone who has not experienced the hopeless feeling from a failed first surgery probably would not understand... If you are still stressed, please at least go get consultations at places you think are okay...
