I have a bit of asymmetry.. and a history of orthodontic treatment, and I wanted to get a proper diagnosis on whether I should get facial contouring or double jaw surgery, so I went around to 2 oral and maxillofacial surgery clinics for consultations. I’ll just write briefly, mostly based on my impressions….
1. ㅇㅇㄷ The director mainly explained things in response to what I asked. I think it was okay, and the consultant also felt straightforward and clear. They said hospitalization isn’t needed if I get the 3-part contouring. They said they just check that I wake up from anesthesia and I can be discharged the same day, so that was appealing… There is a discount if you agree to show your face.
2. ㅇㅇ There are two directors, and I consulted with Director ㅅ. Even without me asking, he explained various things in detail. But I felt like the consultant responded somewhat perfunctorily. There was a discount for partial photo disclosure, and for 3-part contouring, it requires a 1-day hospitalization. After looking at my facial CT, they told me things the previous clinic didn’t mention, which I liked. Oh and there were… a lot of people. There were foreigners too.. I also got the feeling they probably have a lot of experience lol
The costs were similar at both clinics.
Both clinics did not recommend double jaw surgery for me for functional problems, but as I kept reading reviews, I kept wanting more… Still, because I feel burdened by recovery and restrictions on daily life, I’m still not even able to properly decide whether to do the 3-part contouring. I really feel that the path of plastic surgery is long and difficult……
