Because of revision eye surgery, I visited more than 10 places in person and narrowed down my list somewhat, and I'm trying to decide among 4 places. It's split 2 vs. 2, so I'm conflicted and wanted to ask for help!!
At 2 places, the directors are relatively young (late 30s to early 40s). Their characteristics are that they are relatively kinder, and during consultations they seem to listen as much as possible to what direction I want and try to match it. Also, if I end up needing another revision surgery 10+ years later, being able to go to the same doctor could be an advantage, if that's an advantage? On the other hand, the downside would be that their skills may not have been fully verified yet, right? (ㅌㅂ, ㅇㅇㄹ) At the other 2 places, the directors are a bit older (early 50s). Their characteristics are that they have something like a firm philosophy of their own? So when I ask something, they give a clear yes/no (mostly no), and they seem to tend to recommend surgeries they specialize in. On the other hand, I think the advantage is that their skills have already been proven to some extent. (ㅂㄷㄴ, ㅈㅅㅇ)
For now, basically I think I'll be doing incisional revision surgery + ptosis correction. The younger doctors said they would reflect my preferences and proceed if I want a higher line or epicanthoplasty/upper canthoplasty, while the older/more experienced doctors mostly said to lower the line and did not recommend epicanthoplasty/upper canthoplasty.
