Before before after afterI hesitated over cheekbone surgery for 10 years. I hated my protruding cheekbones so much that they stressed me out, and covering them with my side hair because I felt self-conscious was a must.. Even when taking photos, I avoided photos taken by others, and even for selfies, editing my face shape was essential. Every day I felt depressed, thinking, “If only these cheekbones were gone..” While reading reviews from other people whose surgeries went well and looking for clinics, I still gave up because it was surgery that shaves bone, so I was too worried about side effects and surgical accidents.
Even so, the reason I decided on facial contouring surgery was that I had become completely used to wearing a mask because of COVID, and when I heard masks would be lifted, I thought I should just do it before taking the mask off completely. After months of researching online and visiting clinics, I met the director, and now 4 months have passed since I safely had surgery. At first, I visited about 10 clinics besides that clinic, and among all those clinics, there was nowhere that made me think, “This is the place!” Lastly, I had a consultation with the director there, and I felt at ease and became certain that I could trust the director and have the surgery.
I’m a mother of two children, so inside, what I worried about most on my own was whether a surgical accident or side effect might cause harm? to my children as their mom. Even though I hadn’t said it, the director seemed to read my mind and first pointed out exactly that concern and empathized with me, which made me tear up a little.. haha There was absolutely no overtreatment, and the surgical method also matched well with what I had in mind, but I think the biggest reason I decided on this clinic was that the director empathized with the parts I was worried about and reassured me.
The 4 months after surgery seem to have passed much faster than I expected. For about a month after surgery, I was worried about whether the surgery had gone well and was fighting swelling, so I even forgot about being hungry. Around two months, except for hard and tough foods, I could eat to some extent and had no pain, so it felt like nothing at all lol haha.. I guess it’s thanks to the director doing the surgery really safely and well haha Now that 4 months have passed, unless I force my mouth open wide or eat something too hard, I’m doing so well that I forget I even had surgery.
When I touch my face with my hands, I can feel that the side cheekbones are gone and the area has become smooth, and it feels really good... I get so excited when I look in the mirror to do my makeup, and now I don’t have to go around putting up a curtain with my side hair because I felt self-conscious, so it’s so comfortable. Even when the wind blows, I don’t worry about my cheekbones and can walk around confidently, which makes me really happy...
