(The eyes in the photo are not mine.) I’m a high school student living outside Seoul. I was looking for hospitals for double eyelid revision surgery and had some questions, so I’m posting this ㅠㅠㅠ I’ll speak casually.
First, to explain my current condition, early last year I didn’t research anything and just went to a clinic in my region and got ptosis correction, fat removal, and an inline double eyelid. The result isn’t bad. It doesn’t look obvious at all that I had double eyelid surgery, and it turned out natural. But as all the swelling went down, the front part of my eyelid line got completely covered. So my eyes look really stuffy, and it feels like the space between my eyes looks wide? Since almost the whole line except the outer ends of my eyes got swallowed, it feels heavy when I open my eyes.
So I’m thinking about revision surgery with upper epicanthoplasty, lateral canthoplasty, and changing the line to in-out or semi-out. For revision surgery, I think it would be better to do it in Seoul rather than locally, so I downloaded Gangnam Unni and am looking for hospitals. But since I live outside Seoul, I can’t immediately go around to several consultations. I’m really trying to choose about three clinics accurately, go for consultations, and come back. That way, if I book right away, the burden of going back and forth is a bit less ㅠㅠ But I only first learned that you have to visit multiple plastic surgery clinics while looking into revision surgery, so choosing a clinic feels really overwhelming. So I wanted to ask some questions...
1. About how many clinics would be good to visit?
2. I’ve only bookmarked TJ, Grand, Igram, Yellow, and Private. Could you recommend clinics with a good reputation for eye surgery?
3. Which places are famous for opening up the inner/upper corners in a refreshing way while considering the overall proportions, without making upper epicanthoplasty look too burdensome? When I look at reviews, there seem to be many places that perform upper epicanthoplasty only very mildly, to the point where there isn’t much change. (During the consultation, do you coordinate it by saying something like how much you’d like it opened?)
4. When you go for a consultation, do they hold and show you the double eyelid line and also show what it would look like if you get the canthoplasty? (Like, this is how it will look if you get the canthoplasty)
5. When going around for clinic consultations, the hospitals you want consultations at will probably all be in different locations, so do you take the subway and buses... and get around like that? The place I live is a region without a subway.. lol I think even going for consultations will be so hard
6. When going around to consultations, after receiving a consultation and leaving.. is it okay to say I’ll look into a few other places and come back? Or should I say I’ll think about it a little more and then leave? I feel bad just getting a consultation and leaving ㅠㅠㅠ
I wrote everything I was curious about, so it came out kind of disorganized, but for now I want to know at least this much!! I’d be really grateful if you could explain in detail. (I want eyes like the ones in the attached photo!)
