Since high school, my blank-looking impression had always been a complex of mine, so I decided to get double eyelid surgery this time. My surgeon told me that because the space between my eyebrows and eyes is on the narrow side, setting the crease too high could make my impression look too strong. What I originally wanted was also a natural look with an in-out line rather than something dramatic, so I had the surgery with an in-out line! (The surgical method was partial incision, with a little fat removal.)
After the surgery, I was worried about what I would do if it hurt or if the swelling didn’t go down well, but I had so little pain that it was almost surprising. I think I also had less bruising and swelling compared to other people. It’s been about 4 months now, and I really like the line. When I had monolids, my eyelashes wouldn’t stay curled no matter how firmly I used an eyelash curler, which was stressful. But now I can make individual lashes look pretty exactly how I want, so every time I do my makeup, I feel grateful to my surgeon haha. When I had monolids, everyone around me tried to stop me from getting double eyelid surgery, but now that I’ve actually done it, everyone says it turned out so well and that I look pretty, so I’m really satisfied.
