I had posterior-auricular square jaw surgery + jaw muscle resection around lunchtime on Saturday, 2025.10.4, during last year’s golden holiday period. On the 7th day after surgery, I wore a mask and went back to work as usual. There was still a little swelling (it felt just slightly more swollen than how your face looks the day after drinking and eating too much the night before??) As the bruising was fading from my jaw, I developed faint yellow bruising from my neck to my collarbone, but it was mild enough to cover with cosmetics. After resting for the two weekend days right away, when I went back to work normally on the 9th day after surgery, it had become so natural that no one around me noticed, even with my mask off. Now, people who already knew me keep saying things like why did you lose so much weight, your face has gotten so small, and so on. They say successful plastic surgery is when no one around you notices, and I think that is exactly my case. Even close friends who knew I had surgery could not immediately recognize it when they first saw me after the surgery, because it turned out so natural, so I am satisfied. As for pain after surgery, on the first night after surgery, even though I lay down with my head elevated, I had a throbbing sensation only when I was trying to fall asleep (about the level of pain after getting a cavity treated at the dentist), so it was slightly hard to fall asleep, but from the second day onward, it was gone. My mouth would not open well enough for a toothbrush to fit, so for about 3 days after surgery I only brushed by gargling, and from 3 days later I brushed with a toothbrush. For meals, for about 5 days after surgery, only a coffee-spoon-sized amount would fit in my mouth, so I cut all foods into small pieces and ate them, except for things that were hard to chew. It has now been about 7 months since surgery, and I am living my daily life with no discomfort at all, as if I had never had plastic surgery. For me, my angular face was like a complex I had carried for a long time in my life, so I feel refreshed and satisfied, as if I solved a life assignment. If anyone around me is considering square jaw surgery like I did, I want to tell them to find just a little courage like I did, and then all the countless hours they spent worrying will actually feel regrettable. Anyway, I am extremely satisfied, so I personally recommend Bondi Plastic Surgery Clinic.
