I had a forehead lift surgery around the summer of 2023.
My complex was that I originally had sunken eyes and my eyelids were so thick that even eyelid tape did not work at all. I wanted to make the eyelid skin itself a bit thinner, so I was deciding between a sub-brow incision and a forehead lift.
But the distance between my eyes and eyebrows is naturally on the short side, and I was also worried about scarring under the eyebrows, so in the end I chose a forehead lift.
To be honest, I chose the hospital… pretty casually lol I looked at the clinic’s Twitter, and it just seemed okay, so I decided on this place.
I do not remember the exact price, but I think it was roughly around 300,000 to 350,000 yen.
My memory of the surgery process is a little hazy, but I made the reservation from Japan through LINE, and I think when I first visited, I had the consultation and proceeded with surgery right away.
There were two methods for the forehead lift: one was a type that pulls and lifts strongly, and the other was a type that lifts to a moderate degree.
I wanted to do the stronger lift, but the director said, “You are still young, so the moderate one is absolutely better,” so in the end I went with that. Thinking about it now, I do wonder if I should have asked them to lift it a little more strongly lol
The surgery ended sooner than I expected, and when I looked in the mirror, there I was looking totally like a lion(?) lol At that time, my eyes were lifted the way they had looked when I simulated it by pulling upward with my hands.
As for downtime, right after surgery I felt really refreshed and okay, but after I returned to my hotel in Myeongdong, the dizziness and nausea were so severe that I vomited several times.
It was so hard that I went back to the hospital the next day and got an IV drip. Even after that, I was scared I might throw up again, so I asked the interpreter several times, “What should I do if the nausea comes back?” They said, “You will not get nausea anymore.” I remember thinking to myself, “How can they be so sure…?” lol
After that, recovery went relatively smoothly, and now I can hardly tell where the scars are.
As for the effect, like other people’s reviews, I do feel that it has come down a little more than expected over time.
Still, before surgery my eyelids were so thick that I could not even apply eyelid tape, but now I definitely feel that they have become thinner.
However, the change itself is really subtle, so if you want a dramatic change, I think you should definitely choose the option with the stronger lifting effect out of the two.
