I’m sharing how I corrected my upturned “dragon nose” using cartilage particles without an implant! About a year ago... I was worried because my nose was low, so I got Hiko My satisfaction with Hiko wasn’t even 3 out of 5. If anything, after getting it, the look that made my nose seem like a dragon nose got worse, so I was stressed I didn’t want to go down the treatment -> surgery route, so I researched the clinic for the procedure carefully before going, but it was a total fail I ended up looking into rhinoplasty because I thought the real answer for improving the nose was surgery, and since I didn’t want an open approach, I searched for closed rhinoplasty
To give a few search tips, don’t just search “rhinoplasty.” If you search things like “closed rhinoplasty,” “no implant,” “cartilage injection,” etc., clinics with lots of reviews related to this will come up I narrowed it down to 3 places and went around for consultations and I ended up getting surgery at the clinic where I liked the consultation the most
I’ll share the answers I got from Director Oh Seung-il! Can my septal cartilage be used? > It can be used. They even checked with a CT scan, and my septal cartilage was large enough, so it was possible. Is no implant possible? > Since I don’t want much height in the nasal bridge, it’s possible. Cartilage particles can be used for the step-off that forms when raising the nasal tip. What about correcting the dragon nose? > Nostril correction needs to be included, and it can be corrected by using septal cartilage to make a nasal tip support strut.
Honestly, for the last part, other clinics said it would be hard to build the support structure with a closed approach But here they said it was possible, and the director explained it while running a virtual simulation. It was the method I wanted, so I went through with the surgery
When I first had swelling after surgery, honestly I wasn’t sure.... I couldn’t tell whether it had been corrected well, but at least the unnatural look without a smooth transition seemed improved, so I felt relieved Now that it’s been over a week, the swelling is going down fast, and my nose shape is starting to look much better than before So I intentionally took and uploaded photos from a similar angle to my pre-op photos, so you can see how the dragon nose was corrected! Overall, it looks much more natural than before, and since I had rhinoplasty with a closed approach using cartilage particles, I’m happy because the correction seems better than I expected I wasted money on the procedure for nothing.... I should’ve just looked for surgery using cartilage particles from the beginning
