This was my third nose surgery. I developed contracture after both my first surgery and my revision surgery, and when I heard I had to get another revision, I honestly felt mentally devastated.. I thought I needed to find a place specializing in revision surgery for contracted noses, so I looked around and had a consultation at It’s B. They said functional nasal surgery could be done at the same time, so we decided to address my rhinitis and nasal valve issues too~ They harvested rib cartilage and used autologous costal cartilage to do the revision surgery for my contracted nose, columella lowering, and functional nasal surgery all at once. Since it was my third surgery, I was really worried recovery would take a long time. But after 3 months, the swelling went down a lot, and the nasal tip became slimmer and prettier.. Before, my nasal tip was blunt and hard, but now it feels soft even when I touch it, and it looks natural. Since I had functional nasal surgery too, breathing has become easier, and the sniffling from rhinitis has improved as well. I used to touch my nose every day and worry that contracture might come back, but so far there are no signs of that at all, so I think that’s a relief.
