My natural nose - my hump wasn’t severe, but it bothered me and was the part I wanted to improve the most - I had a bulbous nose, so when I took photos, it looked spread out, so I always edited them and even drew in contour shading with Photoshop - from the front or side, from any angle, it was a typical flat Asian nose
Why I decided on nose surgery - I thought my facial features overall didn’t match. My eyes were flashy (I had double eyelid surgery), my lips were full/glamorous (I got filler), and my face shape was oval (I refined the cheek hollows and sunken areas with full-face fat grafting), but if only my nose was bulbous with a hump, it definitely would have stood out, right? Honestly, I had already touched everything else and only my nose was left, so it was bound to look that way lol. What’s scary about this is that when you fix things little by little, you get more desire, and because you think you could become a bit prettier, you keep wanting to do more. (I’m really, really satisfied with my face now and I don’t think about more plastic surgery anymore!!! Everyone, control your desires well and don’t overdo your surgeries!!!)
Consultation experience - I had consultations at three places and had surgery at ㄹㅂㄹ. The reason was that they matched my need for a “natural-glam line that wasn’t too flashy” the best, and I liked that they carefully consulted with me about materials that suited me. Honestly, all the places I went to for consultations were famous for flashy results, so I was worried they would definitely give me a flashy estimate.. lol. It took a long time to book the consultation, so the surgery date got pushed back later than I had expected, which was disappointing, but I’m satisfied with the result, so I decided to let it slide lol
Surgery - When I had the cotton packing in, it felt stuffy and uncomfortable. I even imagined dying in my sleep because I couldn’t breathe (my MBTI is extremely N, haha). Once the cotton was removed, about half the discomfort went away. The other half was the area where the autologous costal cartilage was harvested... lol. It felt stiff and sore for a week, and I didn’t even have the courage to go out for walks, so I just quietly walked around at home. Still, after that I recovered and focused only on reducing swelling by going on walks around the neighborhood often!! And the day I was most excited for was the day the splint came off... I was insanely excited that day, so the day before, I put selfies into AI and checked my face with different versions of noses before going. Because I was worried it would feel awkward and I wouldn’t get used to it.. When the splint came off and I looked in the mirror, it was the line I had designed + swelling on top of it, so I felt relieved. Still, as soon as I first looked in the mirror, the area between my eyes looked much narrower, so it did feel awkward. Now that a year has passed, this feels like my original nose and like I was born this way lol
Currently, over a year later - It came out right between natural-glam and flashy, so I’m really satisfied. So far, I haven’t really experienced side effects like drooping of the nasal tip or inflammation, so I feel like I somehow only shared positive things, but you absolutely shouldn’t think of nose surgery lightly. Think about it carefully. I’m only one year post-op too, so I’m still keeping an eye on it.
