Nose Surgery Reviews

A nose surgery alone changed my whole vibe (review of rhinoplasty with autologous costal cartilage)

I was stressed because my short nose made my facial proportions look a bit awkward My nose was low and short, so my philtrum looked longer and my face overall had a somewhat flat impression... People around me did say I looked cute and younger, but it wasn’t really the look I wanted, so I kept worrying about it. Then, after a recommendation from an acquaintance, I went around to a few places for consultations and ended up also visiting ㄷㄷㅇ. During the consultation, it didn’t feel like they were pushing too much, and they explained things realistically based on my face! Since I had a short nose, they said the columella should be extended a little more downward, and because my skin is on the thicker side, the doctor recommended autologous costal cartilage. For the first 1-2 weeks after surgery, there was some swelling + stuffiness, and especially the blocked-nose feeling was the toughest Still, the pain was more tolerable than I expected, and the costal cartilage area got better quickly after a few days. Up until week 2, it was a period where I felt a bit bothered and stuffy every time I looked in the mirror. From week 3, as the swelling went down and the line started to show, I began to feel more relieved. I’m now at 2 months, and the nasal tip feels firmly maintained, with almost no spreading or lowering. The columella has also settled naturally, so the short-looking impression seems to have decreased a lot. Autologous costal cartilage definitely seems good for shaping and supporting the nasal tip, but early recovery is a bit longer and you also have to pay attention to scar care. Looking at it now, I feel like that was worth accepting. I’m managing the scar by applying ointment, and it’s fading faster than I expected, so I’m not too worried. Just changing my nose makes my overall facial proportions feel more balanced, so I think about it less now. If you’re concerned about a short nose, autologous costal cartilage seems worth considering as an option.
