Hello, it’s already been 5 years since my full removal surgery, so I’m writing a new post. I originally didn’t have many complaints about my nose. My nose was high too. But it was a “dragon nose,” where the nostrils were visible from the front. Since I didn’t know anything about noses, I thought if I just got nose surgery, my nose would magically change and become pretty.. haha
2020.10.29 First surgery: slightly shaved down the hump on the nasal bridge, no silicone, septal extension, and ear cartilage -The shape was pretty. It was the trendy nose at the time -The nostrils showed even more. Since it was already a dragon nose, once it was raised, it became a total Michael Jackson upturned nose -I couldn’t breathe through my right nostril (lived with a nasal voice) -Even my philtrum was pulled up, and it absolutely would not come down
I thought I would become prettier and my nostrils wouldn’t show, but from the front my nose was so upturned, and even my philtrum was lifted, so I really cried every time I looked in the mirror. I thought, ah, I need surgery to lower my nose, so I went to a hospital known for lowering noses really well. Used rib cartilage + AlloDerm on the nasal bridge, and had surgery in April 2021.
But since I had originally had a dragon nose, once my nostrils were lowered so they didn’t show at all and my nasal bridge also became higher, my image changed so, so, so, so much that every time I looked in the mirror I cried my eyes out like, who are you..
The surgery really did go well. I could breathe through my nose well, the lifted philtrum came down, and the shape was good. The doctor was also such a good person. But it just didn’t suit me..
I think a lot of people went to that hospital for removal after seeing my previous full removal post. So I had an early removal after only 12 days, and now it has been 5 years.
The doctor had said he would do a revision rather than removal, and he explained well that if I removed it then, my nose could collapse and explained the risks too, but I said I would take all of that and still wanted it removed.
My nose was so swollen and bulbous.. But now all the swelling is gone, so it has become a bit thinner and the contours show too. When you first have removal surgery, the nose contour doesn’t show well for a few months! I think my nose contour slowly formed over several years.
And because I had surgery, revision surgery, and removal all in a short period, my nose, which had originally been slightly crooked, became more crooked. (They had said the cartilage had weakened)
And it became shorter than my natural nose, and my nostrils show more too. It feels like a cut-off nose! Still.. I’m living with less stress than I had with the operated nose.
There are really many people who return to their natural nose! That wasn’t the case for me though..
Still, I can twist my nose as much as I want, touch it, blow it, make a pig nose, and move it left and right comfortably without worrying at all!!
Now that 5 years have passed since removal and I’m at ease, I’m having the crazy thought of wanting to somehow operate on these nostrils again.. But when I think about how much I suffered,,. But still..
It seems like there are still many people having a hard time emotionally because of removal or nose surgery, so after getting a lifting procedure, I came back after a long time and am leaving a post!! If you have anything you’re curious about, ask me (Sorry about the photos)
