Eye Surgery Reviews

I wanted double-eyelid surgery to look exactly like the eyes I had with double-eyelid tape....

You know how people say the line you make with double-eyelid tape can never be recreated with double-eyelid surgery? I was anxious because of that too, so even though it was a hassle, I always lived with double-eyelid tape on. Every morning I put on double-eyelid tape, and even though it was hard to remove when washing my face, I just endured it. But then my friend got double-eyelid surgery, and her line looked really natural and so pretty.... She even had an incisional procedure, and the incisional double-eyelid surgery I knew definitely had that intense, wide-eyed look, but hers was completely natural and made her eyes look defined, so I suddenly got interested and started going around for consultations too. But one thing that bothered me was that I had used double-eyelid tape for a long time..... so I felt like I’d probably have to get an incisional procedure too Honestly, since it was my first surgery, I really wanted a non-incisional procedure, but I went to consultations at Ollo while thinking, “What if they tell me I have to do incisional?” And unexpectedly, the director said I would be fully able to do it non-incisionally! Instead, since my eyes are uneven, he said the surgery would include ptosis correction to improve the fixation strength of the line, and other than that, he didn’t recommend anything unnecessary at all. It was my first cosmetic-surgery consultation, so honestly I was nervous, but both the director and the consultant were so kind... It would have been much harder if I had tried to look everything up on my own, so finding out through my friend was such a huge win.. The surgery itself was buried-suture double eyelid + epicanthoplasty + ptosis correction!! There was definitely a different feeling between wearing double-eyelid tape and actually getting double-eyelid surgery. This felt much tighter? But it wasn’t a feeling that lasted continuously, and as the swelling went down and the line settled lower, opening my eyes became much more comfortable. My friend had incisional surgery and I had the buried-suture method, but even when I watched her swelling go down, it didn’t seem that slow, so I held on with the mindset of not obsessing too much and just waiting. And once I hit the one-month mark, my eyes really changed into the style I used to create with double-eyelid tape.... Since I also got epicanthoplasty, should I say my eyes look much more opened up than before? As you can see, I’m the type who barely wears eye makeup, but even without doing it heavily, my eyes look clearly defined. I really, really pursue an extremely natural look.. so I feel like even just this much is enough. If I get greedier from here, I think that would literally be “greed”.. Every time I went to Apgujeong, the packed subway was exhausting but still, I’m so, so glad I got double-eyelid surgery!
