At first, a doctor I know (a really nice family medicine doctor) searched through all of his connections and found a clinic with someone natural-looking and good, but my mom wouldn’t stop bleeding, and the cost ended up being really high too... It was a very private clinic in Cheongdam... The price was much higher than other places as well, and it ended without much change.
It was my mom’s first cosmetic surgery, and I guess it hurt her in its own way. She said she’d never do anything again and even stopped going to dermatology completely, and only went to skincare rooms.
Then a few years later, I got under-eye fat repositioning, and right after coming out, I video-called my mom. I had no swelling and went straight to work, and even after I got home, I was fine, so maybe my mom’s mind shifted a bit. In the end, in 2021, we went to the clinic together, and unexpectedly, the director said she could just do lower blepharoplasty and under-eye fat repositioning, and that she didn’t need upper blepharoplasty right away.
So she only did lower blepharoplasty + upper blepharoplasty. But they said they couldn’t know the surgery time. They said with revision surgery, they only know after opening it up... I waited with my younger sibling, and I think we waited for quite a while. It’s been so long that I don’t remember, haha.
As soon as it was over, the director told me to come in, boasted that he had sutured it so beautifully, and asked why I wasn’t taking pictures, so I took them;; My mom also opened her eyes right away, and when I asked if it hurt, she said it didn’t hurt at all, so I was so relieved ㅠㅠ
From right after the surgery, the look was different, and my mom said it didn’t hurt either. After a month, the stitches were removed, and the major swelling went down quickly, but the very slight residual swelling seemed to take about 4 or 5 months? The residual swelling wasn’t elsewhere but around the cheekbone area? She said that area felt a bit puffier than before to her, and she went for consultations a few more times afterward. The director kept telling her to please drink more water and go for walks, but she absolutely didn’t ^^ In the end, it took a long time for the residual swelling to go down, and the story is that she became extremely satisfied.
It’s been 3 years, and she’s still pretty. I do think, how nice would it have been if she had chosen well from the beginning, but I’m so relieved that at least for the revision surgery, we chose well and had it done.
