Honestly, unless I was being photographed, my uneven eyes weren’t that noticeable, so it was a surgery my friends tried to talk me out of. But I had already made up my mind to get posterior and lower canthoplasty, and I thought I might as well get double eyelid surgery at the same time. Before the revision surgery, I had had non-incisional buried sutures done once 3 years ago. But as time passed, I guess it was gradually coming undone, and my eyes looked like they had no sparkle and looked sleepy, you know? So while looking around for consultations for canthoplasty too, I ended up getting major work done all at once^^ (They say once body-image anxiety about your appearance starts, it never ends... everyone knows how I feel, right...??) Now after surgery, my eyes look much clearer and the sparkle is back, so I like it. The lines were set almost the same, but to correct the asymmetry, the right eye was set slightly higher. Is it noticeable?? Even though the before-and-after photos are bare face / fully done-up, there’s one thing they have in common. Both are my natural eyes without contact lenses... Now you understand why I’ve been obsessing over the sparkle in my eyes since earlier, right? LOL And the posterior and lower canthoplasty I wanted the most... I’ve already heard plenty of “why get it when your eyes are already big?” and “your eyes are already glamorous enough,” so I’ll pass on those comments^^ Before surgery, I wasn’t even making a smiling-eye expression like ^^ (obviously, I wasn’t smiling), but my eyes looked blocked and stuffy, as if the eye muscles were being pulled upward, should I say? So I just wanted them opened slightly. A puppy-like look was also my goal... Now you understand why I’ve been obsessing over the sparkle in my eyes since earlier, right? LOL And the posterior and lower canthoplasty I wanted the most… I’ve already heard plenty of “why get it when your eyes are already big?” and “your eyes are already glamorous enough,” so I’ll pass on those comments^^ Before surgery, I wasn’t even making a smiling-eye expression like ^^ (obviously, I wasn’t smiling), but my eyes looked blocked and stuffy, as if the eye muscles were being pulled upward, should I say? So I just wanted them opened slightly. A puppy-like look was also my goal… But when I went for consultations, the double eyelid line and surgical method estimates were pretty similar, but there were: 1. places that said they wouldn’t do posterior and lower canthoplasty at all 2. a place where even I thought the design was a bit excessive 3. a place that didn’t even check the available space and just pulled my eye wide open with a cotton swab, saying, “Mm... you can do posterior and lower canthoplasty” (I mean, I get it, but you should discuss with me how much you’ll open it and what angle you’ll use;;) 4. a place that matched my needs while carefully checking whether there was enough space Of course, any rational person would get it done at number 4, right? LOL Double eyelid surgery seemed like something they were good at wherever I went, so I was really strict only about the canthoplasty and chose after checking carefully. I’m satisfied, and I still don’t have any of the commonly mentioned side effects like eye stinging or eyelashes poking the eye. Can those appear over time?? If I keep watching and something starts to bother me, I’ll post again right away. +When the swelling was going down, the two sides looked uneven and I got anxious all over again, but once all the swelling went down, it wasn’t like that. I just feel sorry for contacting the clinic so much for no reason... For double eyelid asymmetry, at least wait until all the swelling is gone before asking... ^^
