This was my revision eye surgery 7 years after my first double eyelid surgery, and I even got my secondary canthoplasty solved at DTRM. When I first got double eyelid surgery, I had incisional ptosis correction and medial epicanthoplasty too. But even after medial epicanthoplasty, my Mongolian folds were still there, and even after ptosis correction, I still had that sleepy-looking impression As time passed, the asymmetry of the line became more and more noticeable, so I had no choice but to look into revision surgery. I heard that successful revision canthoplasty is really difficult, so it took me months just to look for a hospital.. After going around for consultations, the reason I decided I should do it at DTRM was because of the consultation with Director Kim. He really pointed out the problems in a cool-headed and realistic way and clearly told me the solution, I guess..? He said that if the front of the line is low and only the back is raised, the line ends up looking covered in the front, so the front needed to be raised and the back lowered. The most shocking part was that he said the first surgery had not actually opened the canthus at all and had only left scars..? He said that a definite upper medial epicanthoplasty was needed for a double eyelid line that connects naturally from the inner corner, so I trusted the director and got it exactly as he said From the middle onward, he lowered the line while excising the scar, and it turned out so cleanly without an incisional scar. My eye shape itself just definitely looks more opened, so unlike my first surgery, my satisfaction is really high.. I finally understand why people get canthoplasty When I had the stitches removed, I was more worried about bruising than swelling, but that also went away completely in less than a month. From the 3-month mark, it settled naturally to the point where it really felt like my original eyes..! I do wonder what it would have been like if I had gone to a reliable director from the beginning
