I went for a double-eyelid surgery consultation at the plastic surgery clinic that comes up when you search Naver for Seoul National University plastic surgery. To start with the conclusion, I don’t think I’ll get it done here. The consultation was too cursory for me to entrust them with my eyes.
This was the first time I had something called a plastic surgery consultation. It’s a private clinic run by a board-certified specialist with experience. The consultation is basically structured so that the doctor looks at you, and then the consultant explains things in a bit more detail. First of all, there were so many people that the doctor’s consultation ended in less than 3 minutes. So they didn’t give me detailed explanations about what kind of eyes I have, why eyes like the photo wouldn’t be possible, and so on, and instead immediately started setting a surgery date. The consultant even recommended nose surgery, which made me very uncomfortable. I came through an acquaintance’s recommendation, and even though that acquaintance’s surgery was successful, I still feel reluctant. Still, the surgery price was surprisingly cheap.
One good thing, in its own way, is that the doctor tries to avoid surgeries that seem likely to leave scars, such as epicanthoplasty, as much as possible.
