At one month after surgery, I was worried because the swelling was going down unevenly and there were scars, but when I contacted the plastic surgery clinic, they immediately scheduled a consultation with the director and gave me a swelling-reduction injection, so I think there’s no need to worry about aftercare! At that time, I asked about the epicanthoplasty scar, and they recommended applying scar ointment, so I used the one sold at the clinic. It faded, and now you can’t see it unless you look extremely closely from up close, so I’m not applying it anymore. I think it will disappear completely over time, so I’m going to wait and see. I’m now three months post-op, but even normally, my face tends to swell easily after sleeping and the swelling takes a long time to go down, so I think that’s why it isn’t going away quickly. Still, as time passes, the swelling is going down and it’s gradually becoming more natural, so I’m waiting it out. When I went for a post-op progress consultation, they said there was still swelling left and recommended a swelling-reduction injection, but I couldn’t get it due to personal circumstances. They told me to make sure to come in for it when I have time. My eye asymmetry was severe, so the extent of surgery was different on each side. Because of that, only one side is still more swollen, so there is still a difference between the two eyes. But seeing that the difference is less noticeable in the evening when the swelling goes down, I think I should get the swelling-reduction injection and keep monitoring it. The incision line is clean and the scar is not very visible, so I think the surgery itself was completed neatly and well.
