Surgery in May last year. I thought a lot between the standard surgery (the common one where they make the incision inside) and Encore laser surgery, and because I had to rest over the weekend and go straight back to work, I chose Encore even though it was expensive. As for the result, they said I moved around a lot. One side even ended up bruised. Maybe it was because I drink alcohol often. Maybe because of that, honestly there was no advantage in terms of swelling. The swelling was the same as standard surgery, and even if I hadn’t moved around... I don’t think the swelling would have been that minimal. Definitely, when my face was expressionless, the fat was gone so it looked flatter, and I could see that, but even right after surgery, as you all know, there’s that caterpillar-like look specific to lower blepharoplasty. You know, the fat caterpillar. That didn’t go away. I wondered if not enough fat had been removed, so when I brought it up at my 3-month postoperative visit, the director said the area where the fat used to be had sagged, so it remained like smile wrinkles. They said they had also had Encore done and showed me while smiling, and they had the exact same caterpillar look as me. When my face is expressionless, the fat is definitely gone, so after hearing the explanation I understand it. But I still feel some regret, wondering whether the caterpillar would have stayed the same if I had done the standard surgery. I absolutely don’t regret having the surgery. I’ll probably have revision surgery a few years later lololol because I hate the caterpillar... You probably know that dark line specific to lower blepharoplasty (tear trough?), and once that’s gone, doing makeup is much more bearable... The dark circles in the photo are just my own dark circles. Lower blepharoplasty can’t remove dark circles themselves. You need to know that... Even if the darkness caused by lower blepharoplasty-related shadowing, etc. goes away....
