My chin tip was a revision surgery, and my square jaw surgery was my first surgery. The surgeries I had were chin tip surgery, chin tip lengthening, chin advancement, square jaw surgery, and cortical osteotomy.
I had a retruded chin to begin with, and I was told that if I only had front chin surgery, the retruded-chin look would go away, so I was scared but went ahead with the surgery. But the retruded-chin look still remained, so when I looked into it, it turned out that to improve a retruded chin, I should have had front chin advancement......
It’s not like my front chin became super pretty either... I only found out after the surgery When you have a retruded chin, there’s that particular unflattering, kind of dull-looking impression, you know Every time I took side-profile photos, it stood out so much, so I eventually went around for consultations and had surgery at a clinic.
And to create the side profile I wanted, the director said I also needed square jaw surgery, and explained the reasons in detail too, so it made sense to me and I decided to have revision surgery. Since chin advancement is a surgery where pins inevitably have to be used, I had pin fixation. The front chin length, which had become shortened into an odd shape, was lengthened a little while advancing it, and the square jaw surgery was done together as well.
The cost was a bit burdensome, but I had the surgery thinking I should get it done properly once and for all. At first, because of the swelling, I worried so much, thinking, “What if this failed again?” but in the end it all went down.
And now I’ve gotten into taking side-profile photos, so I’m taking a lot of pictures and I’m happy. I heard revision surgery is difficult, but I think the director’s skill is the best!!! For facial contouring, it’s not about being cheap; even if it’s a bit expensive, it’s right to do it at a place with real skill!!!
