One-month overall review- Swelling: still a little present- Line: highly satisfied with the front view and side profile- Satisfaction: personally very satisfied (Reason I decided to have surgery) My nose wasn’t extremely severe, but it had a little bit of almost every feature people would call a drawback. A low bridge, the nasal tip was slightly upturned so my nostrils showed a little, I had a slight hump, and it also had a bit of a bulbous-nose feel? Now that I’m writing it out, I feel like I keep rationalizing it by saying “slightly” haha Honestly, my nose had always bothered me since I was young. When taking photos, my nose was always the first thing I noticed, and taking side-profile photos was even more stressful. So I tried Hiko before, but as expected, it wasn’t a fundamental solution. After that, I spent years just thinking about it, and then a personal turning point came up, so I decided to get my first-ever cosmetic surgery. (Consultation experience) When I was looking into hospitals, there were three main criteria I considered important. 1. Consultation with the director 2. Avoiding factory-style hospitals 3. Aftercare They’re actually all connected, but I was looking for a hospital that was delicate and meticulous. I think I searched through many different channels for reviews and reputations of directors online. People around me said things like, “Even if they’re a bit prickly, isn’t it fine as long as they’re skilled?” but I thought a little differently. Cosmetic surgery isn’t guaranteed to end 100% perfectly, and there could be situations where early correction or after-service is needed. If I’m already in a sensitive state then, and even the director is cold, I thought I’d feel really anxious and have a hard time. So I mostly looked for directors with good aesthetic sense and thorough consultations. When I visited clinics in person, I went to both large hospitals and single-doctor clinics, but in the end, I had surgery with Director Lee Joo-cheol at Begin, where the consultation was the most thorough and trustworthy. (Surgical method) After the consultation, the surgery decided on was silicone for the nasal bridge, autologous costal cartilage for the nasal tip, hump reduction, alar base reduction, and columella correction. That’s how it was done. At first, I hesitated a little because I was told the surgery time would be somewhat long, but when I thought about it, there are many hospitals trying to do even one more surgery a day, so I felt that spending enough time on one person was actually an advantage. (Feeling right after surgery) I was really nervous on the day the splint came off, but as soon as I looked in the mirror, my nose was much prettier than I expected, and even though there was still quite a bit of swelling then, I really liked the line. (Review one month after nose surgery) It has now been about a month since surgery, and overall I’m really satisfied. In the beginning, it felt slightly awkward because of the swelling, but as time passes, I can feel it becoming more and more natural. It hasn’t completely settled yet, so the minor swelling still needs to go down more, but so far, I’m thinking, why didn’t I do it sooner? Maybe because I spent so long being stressed about my nose, even this small change feels like it changed my image quite a bit, so these days I feel good for no reason whenever I look in the mirror. Later, when I have time, I’ll also organize and write a review of the consultations I went to while researching online and visiting clinics in person!
