Originally, I had monolids with thin, slightly sagging skin, so even if a double eyelid line was created, it would quickly get buried. I usually didn’t use double eyelid tape or glue, and I would only get an outer double eyelid when I put on false eyelashes. Every year, I would get the urge to have double eyelid surgery, and I kept wondering whether I should do it or not. Since I felt like I would eventually get it done anyway, I decided to have the surgery. I visited several clinics, and the director at the clinic pinpointed exactly the concerns I had and designed the line in a way that best matched my needs, so I chose that clinic. More than anything, they were very kind, and I never felt like they found the consultation bothersome at all. So I ended up getting natural adhesion double eyelid surgery + epicanthoplasty + fat removal. Originally, I hadn’t planned on fat removal, but looking at it now, I think it was a really good choice. The eyes I wanted were an in-out line, but I wanted the line to be thin and visible overall, and rather than round-looking eyes, I wanted eyes that looked horizontally wider and more open. It has now been a little over a month, and the major swelling overall has gone down, but I think the swelling toward the back is still continuing to subside. They said the epicanthoplasty scars should improve after about 2–3 months, so I’m waiting, and I can visibly see them getting lighter little by little. If you’re considering double eyelid surgery, I think it would be good to get a consultation at least once!
